Kirstein To Mercyhurst

EHK Sports Alum To Play For Lakers in the MAAC

CHICAGO - EHK Sports Enterprises is proud to announce that Denis Kirstein has signed to play hockey for Mercyhurst in the MAAC starting fall of 2003.  Denis is the 9th player to accept a Div I scholarship after playing with EHK Sports.

"Denis is one of the toughest most competitive players you will find.  He provided the driving force for our Prospects teams." said EHK Sports CEO Eric H. Krupka, "Denis plays 100% every game and leaves everything on the ice.  Besides that he is a great person who will do well next season at Mercyhurst."

Denis played for EHK Sports at the 2001 Prospects Tournament in Toronto, where he patrolled the blue line.  Denis led his team with motivation and example.  Denis plays a physical style of play, and everyone on the ice knows it.  Denis plays for the Pittsburgh Forge of the North American Hockey League, with another EHK Sports Alumni John Dingle.  At 6'0"-180lbs Denis is a stay-at-home defenseman who can handle the puck and lay down a heavy slap shot as well.  Denis played his midget hockey for the Pittsburgh Hornets in his hometown of Pittsburgh, PA.  Denis' abilities were quickly noticed by the new Junior team the Forge, who signed him for the following season.  EHK Sports is proud to have Denis as part of our family and wish him the best of luck this season and next at Mercyhurst.

Note: Denis marks the 9th player to in only two years to have played for EHK Sports and gone on to sign a Div I scholarship.  EHK Sports sends only the best U.S. players to the Prospects Tournament in Toronto every year.  In only two short years we have established ourselves as the standard for excellence in hockey promotion.  Our teams are first class all the way.  From the NHL jerseys to the professional coaches, EHK Sports spares no expense in the pursuit of promoting our players and the game of hockey.
