CHICAGO, IL - The EHK Sports team that participated in the Michigan Prospect Tourney had a very successful showing. With three players making the All Prospects Team (Rich Delecke, Stephen Klug, and Anthony Petrak) and several others that should have - the team enjoyed a successful weekend of hockey.  This team of players put together from the EHK Showcase showed great character and cohesiveness that made working with them very enjoyable.  The team posted a 3-1 record on the weekend with many highlight goals, hits and saves.  With a short bench of 4 D-men and 8 forwards after an injury to Joe Abate in game 2, the team played gritty till the end giving the scouts at the State Fairgrounds in Michigan a good look at what they can do to help teams at the next level.

Team members:

Brent DeLoach (G)........  Great size for a goaltender only an 88 that plays angles well, needs to get stronger, another year of midgets then could battle for an NAHL spot.

Anthony Petrak (G).......  Consistent net minder that stays square to the puck giving up very few rebounds, selected to the Prospects All Star team.

Alec Sherman (D).......  Great size and reach to go along with toughness - foot speed will come.  He is a hard worker that can help a junior team.

CJ Rankin (D)........  Above average skater that is solid in both ends, plays physical and is offensive minded.  He should be a steal for a team looking for a tough, mobile defender.

Andrew Fairbanks (D)......  An ‘89 that is playing midgets for Cincinnati, he showed good mobility and hockey sense to go along with toughness, will be someone to look at next year.

Jerry Heath (D)........  Uses his size and reach very well.  Hard worker that got better every game, could be a steady contributor if foot speed increases.

Rick Delecke (F).......  Smart player that sees the ice well, could help someone that needs leadership and a solid two way forward.  Selected to the Prospects All Star game, has a heavy, quick shot.

Seth Newton (F)........  Solid player in both ends of the ice that likes to get to the net, has a good scoring touch and could play in the NAHL.

Tyler Peters (F).......  Very skilled play-making forward that the puck seems to find, always showed up on the scoresheet.  Should be able to play in the NAHL and contribute.

David Knight (F).......  Hard working physical forward that loves the game, a role player that teams look for.

Aimon Shareef (F).......  An ‘89 that works hard every shift, is willing to do anything to get better.

Steven Klug (F).......  An All Prospects Team member that has good size, speed, and hockey instincts, he should be able to play Juniors and contribute.

JJ Reifschneider (F)......  Big, powerful forward that can be a force down low, had one of that hardest shots at the camp, should be able to help a Junior team.

Joe Abate (F).......  Was injured during the second game of the tournament, but showed a good scoring touch and speed in the ice time he had.  He saw the ice very well and was strong in his own end - you could tell he played Juniors last season and should be a contributor this year.

Clint Bowman (F).......  Good speed and hands, played well away from the puck, showed good patience and vision in the offensive end.
